Jerry Kopack

Hi!  I’m Jerry, the owner of Breck By Bike and I’ll be your guide!  As soon as I learned to walk as a young boy growing up in Michigan, bikes have always been a part of my life.  I moved to Colorado where I received a business degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder before beginning my career in finance.  As a recovering cubicle dweller and former mountain bike racer, I turned my time and passion to bike touring.  I love mountains and to date I have bike toured through 18 countries including the Himalayas in India, Nepal and Tibet, the Andes in Peru, Tian Shan in Kyrgyzstan, and High Atlas in Morocco.

But I’m not just a bike guy.  As referenced above, I spent 10 years in corporate America before founding and running a hospice from 2005 – 2015.  Caring for people at the end of life taught me my greatest lesson, one not found in any textbook or cubicle—the value of time.  Now, my focus is on making people smile and living life to the fullest.  I’m also a writer and just published my first book, The World Spins By, chronicling my years in corporate America, running a hospice, the 2-year bike tour that ensued, and all the stories and lessons learned along the way.
